Box too narrow
The In-article needs at least 250 pixels of width. In a narrower column, it does not meet the format's only size requirement.
Implementation guide
In-article ads
A native ad that appears between the paragraphs of the article, with a font and colors similar to your site's.
Understand it in 1 minute
The In-article ad is an ad that lives inside the text. Picture a magazine: you are reading a story and, between one paragraph and another, an advertisement shows up. In-article does that on the site. It shows up between the paragraphs of the article, in the reader's way.
It is a native type. Native means the ad wears your site's clothes: you choose the font, the title color, the description color and the background color to match the page. If you turn on the Google-optimized style option, Google may change these colors and fonts when it predicts that others will work better. This format only uses ads with high-quality elements, such as Google Ads responsive ads. You can also let some display ads appear in the same space, which can help you earn more.
The size is automatic. The width is the same as the box where the code was placed, and the height adjusts to fit all the parts of the ad. There is only one requirement: the ad must be at least 250 pixels wide. With the phone held upright, the ad stretches and takes the full screen width, because Google's tests showed it works better that way.
Google says In-article is ideal for mobile. It is a native ad made for editorial content, which is the text you write yourself, and it sits between the paragraphs of your pages. Google suggests placing the code two paragraphs below the start of the article. If you use more than one on the same page, leave enough content between them, so you do not disturb the reader.

Tips
Watch out
The In-article needs at least 250 pixels of width. In a narrower column, it does not meet the format's only size requirement.
Placing several In-article ads one after another, with little text in between, goes against Google's guidance to leave enough content between ads.
Seeing a display ad in place of the native one is not an error. It happens when the Allow selected display ads option is on, under Global options.
In the ad review center, the In-article appears with a default look and may not match what appears on your site.
As many as you want, as long as the ads do not outweigh the content and there is plenty of text between them.
The width is equal to that of the box it is in, such as a div. AdSense adjusts the height on its own to fit everything.
Because the Allow selected display ads option is on. Showing both types can help you earn more, and you can turn it off under Global options.
Only if you turn on the Google-optimized style option. Without it, your choices apply.
